The return of Dickie Orr in this book was wonderful for me. To have Stephanie suspected (even jokingly) in his disappearance was hilarious because she has a moment with him that is witnessed my several people. The best line in the book was from Ranger: "I used to be such a badass. Everyone wanted to kill me. I had to have Tank walking behind me to keep the paid assassins away. And now I'm being followed by a woman in a rented Taurus."

After taking a year long break from Stephanie, I’m back.
I really enjoyed this story and got to see more of Ranger and Dickie. The new interactions were fun and the story was still over the top (as is the Plum way) with a shift from Stephanie fighting with Moreli and more Ranger. Although if you’re reading the 13th book in a series you probably have already committed.

I obviously have a problem, I read too fast and finish these books in less than a day each.
I love the humor and pace although sometimes I wish Plum would be more decisive with the men in her life. However, I do love the progress and changes that her characters have gone through. Plum is definitely not the same as she was in the first book. She's still klutzy and incompetent at times, but she's developed as a character and as a bounty hunter.

Light, fun, predicable...just wish I had a beach to read it on...but enough candy...onto something more substantial (hopefully)...
Too funny! As always love Janet's color characters and performance by Lorelei King on audio! Love Joe, Lula, and Grandma Mazur as well as Ranger! Stephanie was married to Dickie the attorney for about fifteen minutes before she caught him cheating on her with her arch-nemesis Joyce Barnhardt (always good for a laugh and competition). Another fifteen minutes after that Stephanie filed for divorce, hoping to never see either one of them again.
Doing favors for super bounty hunter Carlos Manoso (a.k.a. Ranger). Ranger needs her to meet with Dickie and find out if he’s doing something shady. Turns out, he is. Turns out, he’s also back to doing Joyce Barnhardt. And it turns out Ranger’s favors always come with a price…(poor Joe)..

There is an obvious formula to these. While Stephanie can be frustrating at times, they don't get old and the action is always entertaining.
Comfort food for the brain, and just as satisfying.

Evanovich has created a rhythm with the characters that doesn't disappoint. Another strong storyline with a the perfect amount of serious situations and humor.
Fun!
Love the Stephanie Plum books. I never get through a book without laughing out loud. Who doesn't love to laugh?
