I think I'm at the end of my historical romance binge. Some problems I had with this book in particular include:

• weak/inconsistent characterization
• MMC is
  the new owner of a gambling club, and I can't help but think of that as a scummy profession.
• I became interested in this book based on the FMC's backstory but it quickly became about something entirely different.
  I want to see her overcoming her traumatic past, and I can't see this book executing this in a satisfying way.
• kind of slut-shamey
