may swing back - loved the FF it was based off, but could not focus on the names and world building

Okay to preface. I am aware this used to be a Reylo fic. I’ve read the Reylo fic. (If you know me in person, no you don’t!!)
Weirdly enough, I felt like the fic this book came from was actually a little better than the book. I think this was mostly a factor of pacing. In the book, they’re planning to split the story up into multiple books (I hope it’s only 2 but it might be 3). As a result I feel like this book kind of ended before the story really moved along much. More on that under spoiler:The climactic peak of the book is the characters’ wedding. I don’t think a story requires more action than this, especially in a romance, but considering both our leads are magic wielding warriors, it does feel a bit disappointing.
That said!!! There are plenty of things that this book does well. Now that Guanzon no longer has to write within the strains of the Star Wars universe, she gets to build out her own worldbuilding with its own lore. (A lot of which is shoehorned into the beginning of the book, though that doesn’t detract from the vibrancy and depth of the world, in my opinion). She also gets to create a fuller picture of who our male romantic lead, Alaric, is. This character is partly inspired by Kylo Ren, but has a lot more redeemable qualities than Kylo Ren does! It’s more understandable how our female lead, Talasyn, can sympathize with him, lust after him, fall in love with him.
All in all, I still enjoyed this, and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series. And tbh I can’t freaking wait for whatever Thea Guanzon’s writes after the hurricane wars!

The book started with 3 stars and in the middle 4 then 3.5 then 5
I had trouble in the beginning with the writing. it had a lot of words that I had no idea what to make of. they felt extra, unnecessary but it did show how pretty the author's writing style was.
The plot executed the enemies to lovers in a perfectly
