It was a good tragedy...I'm only afraid that reading so much Ibsen, they'll all blend into one another. He deserves more of my time, I think.
I read this for my Scandinavian Studies class, and I think it was assigned so that we could understand the times better, which I suppose, I do understand better after reading it. It just wasn't something I would read for fun.
I knew it was going to be chaotic when the opening scene was of a father urging his daughter into prostitution but even i didn't see the syphillis coming... the whole family down bad huh :/
