Honestly probably one of her stronger books in the series, even though it is a novella! Great to explore the children a bit more and makes me so intrigued as to what they will go up to. Although I do worry about generalisations
The best book of the whole series. Made me want more Mad and Octavia big time. Mad is all the weirdness and protectiveness I want in an MMC and he's like 11 or something in this book. Very adult inner thought process and hates people except for super strong willed, very smart and adventurous Octavia. Yes. I'm here for it
HS, bullys to lovers. Group of 4 best friends run the town until 3 of them go to prison all at the same time for crimes committed on video. They get out and want revenge against the women they think put them in prison. (Remember, they committed these crimes).
These books flash back and forward in time from present to 3, 5, 7 years in the past almost every chapter. These are written in multiple POV but combined with switching characters, switching times and bouncing around it was very confusing. I listened to the audiobooks and the same narrator did all 4 boys voices the same so that was also confusing (normally I really enjoy multiple POV narration, this was just so much).
Went into these books blind as I try to go into every book.
Totally thought these were going to be reverse harem, and I can not explain how disappointed I am that they are not.
The fact that there is a new woman introduced every book (most of the time her character name was not even mentioned before) as the new love interest to the particular guy in the established group is extremely annoying.
These books are long. I fast forwarded through most of book 4 and didn't miss a thing. I would have DNFd it had I not wanted the end of the books. I was disappointed. The ending was not satisfying and the epilogue sucks. However book 4.5 Fire Night which takes place 11ish years in the future is very good. Short and sweet and has all the characters in it, plus their kids.

Okay I loved this little novella with everyone! And the kids running around had me laughing at times. But this definitely threw some twists at me....will PD give us a 2nd gen series someday?!?!

I looove Madden and how he cares about Octavia. The way he protected her and then was angry about the bruise on her arm while they are both just kids...love em.
FireNight is the very last part of the Devil's Night series. And I'm praying with all my heart that Penelope will write a serie about the childeren of our horsemans. Because if anything became clear out of this book is that I'm shipping Madden and Octavie extremly hard, I don't care if they are "coussins" which they aren't really right?
Anyway, I liked that we eneded with every guys Pov, i tought we just got a cute night with a little bit trouble, I was wrong, it turned extermly quick but i still enjoyed it. I also again loved the pov chapter of Madden and i'm again hoping that it was a small teaser from somthing she is secertly working on.
Anyway, the series is amazing and i can't believe i was so scared to start it. I never read "dark" romances, but this year i have noticed that I'm so in love witht Them, well antyhign penelope write anyways. I definatly recomand this series, it was so much fun and i can't wait to reread it again. I love the whole found family trope thing and this screams that, i did had some issuse here and there but nothing major, because this may be one of my favorite series i read this year. I had so much fun and it opend a whole new genre for me to try and fall in love with.
