This one picks up the morning after the first one ends. It made me want to re-read the first one again so the previous events would be clearer.

It's a worthy offering in the series, full of pithy sayings and Nick Gautier's typical sass. The whodunit was interesting and engaging if a bit weaker than the first book.

I find myself wanting to go back and research all the vague threads from the Dark Hunter series to try to draw it all together more clearly, but I know that inevitably the guts of the story is only going to be doled out in tiny bits and pieces with each book, just like the Dark Hunter long story arc. I suspect I may forget about this series for a year or two so I'll have a couple to read back to back at some point in the future. I mean really, why be in a rush to read it since the story is going to take a decade to be revealed?

Ok, not that bad. Considering this is a YA book I didn't expect more. I also didn't expect nothing better than the first book. Fortunately I can say that this book was much better than the first volume of this spin off series of DH; but I have to be honest: if it wasn't about Nick I'd soon give up.
Come on, how much more can this go on? Twelve years? I'm sure I'm going to die without knowing the end of DH series. I think the author is exaggerating a lot. And I do mean a LOT.
Each book that is released brings a whole new problem to be solve but instead of giving a solution to one problem and then create another, the author is constantly creating new important issues that have no solution... after 10 books. WTH?
Booooooring!

I hope the next book brings readers something worth reading. Ok, sure, I do like the books. But they could be a lot better. The series has been losing quality with every new release. I'm getting tired of this non-ending stuff. Get real... every series is destined to end. It' better to end with something cool and well-structured than to ruin everything because somebody wants to create more revenue over this.

The second installment in The Chronicles of Nick. Nick managed to survive an attack by zombies, but his day isn't getting any better. His boss has fangs, his mother's new employers are bears, he's being trained in the use of his powers by Death, his principal thinks he's a thief, and his new football coach wants to recruit him as one - oh, and he's having visions of his own death. Little does Nick know that the future of the world hinges on whether he can be recruited by good or evil - no pressure for a 14-year-old boy. Dark Hunter fans can rejoice at having books that can now be shared with younger readers. These books are more enjoyable for those who have read the adult novels; but they are equally fun for young readers who have not.

So much is going on with Younger Nick my brain is hurting just trying to stay caught with everything. Especially since everything has changed from what I know of Nick in the Dark Hunter series. This book answered a few questions as too what Ambrose reasons for contacting Nick.

However This book annoyed me in the earlier parts. As I mentioned in statuses Ambrose and Savitar hinted that Acheron was dead in the future and it was by Ambrose(Nick) which made me kind of upset. For one Sherrilyn has made Nick more powerful than Ash and I'm trying to understand WHY. Also if Ambrose killed Ash Wth happened with Apollomy and her release upon Ash's death how did that go. This series has me questioning a lot of what I know about Ash and Apollomy from the Dark Hunter series. Mainly. Because Ms. Kenyon is changing a lot of things up, hopefully for the better. I can't really believe she'd kill off Acheron I mean what about Simi?

Ok enough of my rambling. THis was a good read, really funny Ms. Kenyon rambles often but quickly gathers herself.

Younger Nick is lovable as well as Caleb despite them being demons and all. No one knows anyhig about Nekoda which i hope it comes Out Soon. I enjoyed the little back story on Bubba and the overall plot of this book.

I'd recommend this book to Sherrilyn fans young and old. Excited for the series since its suppose to redeem a much older much arrogant, much annoying Bitchy Ambrose!

I'm not really buying one of the major conflicts of this book. Nick is blackmailed into stealing people's personal items and neither A) goes to his very powerful and knowledgeable supernatural protector Kirian about it, nor B) understands that a clearly magical/evil person wants those things in order to do something evil and magical to those people, despite the fact that earlier in this same book, someone sternly warned him that personal items could be used to control, kill, and otherwise wreak terrible magic on their owners. False conflict. Obviously someone in this situation who knew things and had gone through things that Nick has by this point would not act in the way Nick acts. This whole plot line doesn't work.

It was decent. I like that the author introduces new information for Nick throughout the entire book. I also like the morals of the story. The only thing I didn't like was that nothing big happened until more than half way through the book. Otherwise, I was pleased with the 2nd installment of this series.

The second installment of the Chronicles of Nick series is just as good as the first one, Infinity. Invincible continues the story of Nick Gautier's teenage years with a little glimpse in the future. You get to spend one more day with fun, sarcastic Nick and his new friends. I love this Nick, the Nick we got to meet in the beginning of the Dark Hunter series, right before his death, before his anger and his need to punish the one person he trusted most changed him. Nick isn't the type of teenager that fits in or the one who could be invisible. You can't pretend he's not there. I think he's the perfect mixture between the fun, easygoing guy and the smartest kid in the class. Because, let's face it, Nick is very smart, even though he doesn't always use his head. I also love the relationship he has with his mother and how even though he's not very proud of her job, he's proud that he's her son and she defends her every chance he gets. And you can see it's genuine, he's not doing it for show or to get something out of it. Like in the first book, he'd rather wear a weird-looking T-shirt at school and take all the mockery his classmates throw at him, than see her mother suffer because he refuses to wear it.

I think this book helped me understand the first book better. For those of you who've read the Dark Hunter series, you know that in Infinity Nick meets a character he's not supposed to meet yet. That was very confusing for me at first, but then the little glimpse in the future we get in this book helped me understand that this series is not only a story of how Nick became a Squire, but it's more a series about redeeming yourself and about the changes you would make if you could turn back and how that would affect you. I just wished I'd caught on earlier :P

I also love the fact that we get to meet some of the characters and how they were before the Dark Hunter series. We get to see more of their backgrounds and how they got to be what they are in the Dark Hunter world . We get to see Kyrian again, which is always a pleasure. We also see Ash in his "mysterious" days, back when his story wasn't yet told and when the mystery surrounding him was getting bigger and bigger with every book. And we get inside the Sanctuary and meet the Peltiers. I do hope we get to see more of them in the following books.

And the new characters are awesome. I loved Bubba! He sounds like a computer tech I could probably have a real conversation with about why my computer is damaged and not look at him with a blank look on my face while he's explaining me technical stuff.

There is one thing that I'm hoping to change about Nick's life, a character's future. I can't say much, because it would be a major spoiler for those who haven't read the Dark Hunter books. But I'm hoping that Ambrose will help change that certain character's course.

I don't think I can say a bad thing about this book. There's nothing I didn't like. Maybe just the fact that I had to wait that long to read it, but in the end I think it was worth it.

I really loved this book. I listened to it, and it was a little hard to follow all the names of the demons.

YES! That's all I can say really. What a satisfying book. Nick is understanding more and more about himself and the world, but he's still staying good. And he's even figuring out who Ambrose really is. He's a really smart kid, that one.

I'm loving this series, as it is a mix of the Dark Hunters and Nick's paralell story, it's great to read about Kyrian, and how he was before the Dark Hunter books. And it's great to see the battles Nick has to battle with himself to stay true and good.

Nick's mom is not as present as I had thought she would be, but she's still there, and loving him, so it's OK.

I'm still not sure how I feel about Cody, and I am wondering who is in place to hurt Nick from the side of his friends.

I'm so glad I decided to revist this series. I'd forgotten what a sarcastic little shit Nick can be. There's so much snark, sass, and general attitude in these books, and my husband kept asking me what I was laughing at.

If you've read the Darkhunter series and enjoyed it, I would recommend these books also. They're another spinoff series and they're pretty quick reads thanks to the action and writing style. I would also maybe recommend these to fans of other series like The Mortal Instruments and Percy Jackson.
