It is, once again, time for the annual Christmas Game at Endgame House, but this time the stakes are higher. The winner gets the house... but there is something else Lily values even more--the truth.
This is the first time Lily has step foot back in the house since she left it following the death of her mother twenty-one years earlier. She needs answers...but not everybody is playing fair.
The biggest enjoyment in this book is the journey. Of course we-the readers- do not have as much information as the characters, but watching them break down the clues was so much fun. Plus, I really appreciated the sapphic representation.

Good fun & an easy read…although I was hopeless at the extra clues

Really disappointing.
The premise sounds so engaging but the actual book is nothing like what is promised. On the front cover "A delicious locked room mystery" Val Mcdermid, for clarity it is not a locked room mystery.
I've read the Jigsaw Murders and that was fun. This was so dull and dreary. No suspense and it was so repetitive, like the author was trying to hit a word count.
Steer clear, or it will ruin your Christmas.

I am a sucker for a country house Christmas murder mystery. Lily and her cousins have come to Endhouse for the annual Christmas game, but this time the grand prize is Endhouse itself. But Lily is there to find out the truth about what happened to her mom years ago.

The Christmas Murder is a fun book. The riddles are given in the form of sonnets and they are rather clever. Of course, the group is snowed in and when the first person is killed, they can’t reach the police by phone (the lines are down), by care (there is a tree down across the driveway), or by cellphone (they were confiscated at the beginning of the game so no one could cheat).

Yes, the premise is a bit unrealistic and the killer obvious, but it kept me entertained throughout. It would make a good seasonal read.

I got this book from netgally and the description made me so excited to read it. However it just didn't really hit the mark for me. It was a good story but I figured it out quickly. Yes there were still some twist here or there that were surprising but nothing was like "wow" to me. I didn't really like the clues. It was not very interactive like I was hoping. I just had such high hopes for this book.

Really enjoyed this book. Massive cluedo vibes. Had me guessing a lot. Only reason it’s not a 5 star is because the word “saracasm” was used sooo many times that I started physically rolling my eyes when it came up again. Apart from that I really enjoyed this book.

Se non fosse stato per il finale, a mio parere scontato e tirato via, i primi 3/4 del libro reggono benissimo la suspense.
