This book had fun hidden games in it for people who are into anagrams and puzzles. Unfortunately, I've discovered I am not, but it was still interesting to see the author tie the puzzles into the book.

The Christmas Murder game was a cozy feeling holiday murder mystery. I had so much fun decoding clues and guessing who was behind the sinister happenings at Endgame House. I'm not going to lie, I struggled through the first handful of chapters as I felt they kind of dragged along slowly, but when a body is discovered, the stakes are immediately heightened and I could not put it down. I pulled an all-nighter to finish this book!

This one was just ok for me. I wanted something that combined my love of Christmas with my love of mysteries/thrillers. This covered those bases for the most part. I enjoyed the premise of decoding clues to win rights to a family house. I just didn’t love the ending. The reasoning for who was behind everything was stupid and I just didn’t care for it. Overall though, decent read.

Struggled with the one dimensional characters - they all had one really strong personality trait and nothing else to them. Also the metaphors in this book drove me crazy. Skim read a lot of this, every chapter was same same in the end - a poem, a death, Lily thinking about memories of her mum….then repeat.

Also how did no one lose it at Sarah being a total b**** the whole book. Like she needed a huge slap

Another excellent festive murder mystery from Alexandra Benedict.

A group of cousins are summoned to their aunt/mother's large country house to play a highly choreographed Christmas game to determine who will inherit the estate.

There are plenty of secrets and grievances, resentments and long-suppressed memories.

Of course, the house gets snowed in and the phone lines go down, so when the game turns murderous, there is nowhere to hide and no way of calling for help.

A cracking page-turner with twists and turns aplenty!
