Well, this did not go a long as I expected, but I very much enjoyed it. It's the end of the world, unless Gwen kills everyone she loves and consumes their souls so that the hungry Cthulhu type interdimensional monster goes somewhere else for lunch. Is there really no other way to (temporarily) save the rest of the world?

That is an acceptable ending, but I'm in dire need for an all happy ending since my favorite characters are dropping like flies.

I'm glad they had a chance to wrap everything up, but this seemed a little... rushed? Forced? Like, everything was TOO tidy. And underdeveloped.

While I got passed the fact that it's really nothing like the show, I really LOVED this series overall. I think this is such a great ending to the story overall and such a great story itself. Highly recommend all of the iZombie volumes to people who like science fiction and spooky stuff!

I'm going to rate this volume, and the series as a whole, as three stars - I enjoyed it, but not to the extent I would read it again.
In the final volume the end of the world is upon us as Xitalu, a soul eater from beyond our dimension, reaches down to consume everyone. Arrayed against it is every person that we have met in the first three volumes, but it is Gwen at the end of the day who saves everything. The while thing feels an little bit too overstuffed to be a really great read, but at least it comes to a satisfactory conclusion for the series.

While there are some sub-plots that didn't get as fully developed as I would have liked (the result of having to wrap the series up quickly), this series has a satisfying ending. And now Roberson is free to write completely creator-owned books. Overall, this was a fun and enjoyable series.

Perhaps it's been too long since I've read V.1-3, but V.4 didn't do much for me. The volume had too much going on with too many disparate storylines.

Well that took a strange turn...
I would have preferred it to remain like the first volume where it was just about a good zombie, eating the brains of dead people and fulfilling their last wishes. This whole apocalyptic ending was rushed and it just really deviated from what the story was at the beginning.
I think I'll stick to the tv show.

The ending felt really rushed, but from reading other reviews I learned that the series got cancelled, so...fair enough, I guess. As it was, the series kind of got needlessly complicated when the dead presidents were introduced. Too much happening for this reader to connect with any one part of the story. Overall, though, a decent series, though I do much prefer the TV show. 3 stars.
