3.5 ⭐️ my first Frieda McFadden book. It kept me engaged and wanting to know what happened. I found the main character to be very naïve and just a little irritating, during the chapters that took place before the shooting.

I did enjoy the parts where we went through her healing journey with her and meeting Jaime. I LOVED them.

The writing style itself was ok. Felt a little like she was just listing what was going on. Everyone always says her twists you never see coming, but I saw from page 1 where this was going. A little disappointed. I may still check out her other books but unfortunately she’s not a new favorite.

Wow this book just blew me away !!

I admit I'm a true fan of Freida Mcfadden and I have really enjoyed most of her books but this one was different than any I have ever read from her.

It reminded me of a medical thriller from Robin Cook who has been my favorite author most of my life.

I think Freida did a great job intwining her ability as an author and doctor in this story of a young dermatologist who was shot in the head bringing us inside her daily  recovery and the mystery of who and why she was shot.

By using flashbacks between then and now Freida made all her readers  participants in solving the mystery in a way which made the book even more fun to read.  It was a real who done it story filled with insights into living and changing after a murder attempt.

I definitely recommend it to all who love murder mysteries and medical thrillers .

Nothing mind blowing, but it was hard to put down!
