I pretty much skimmed through this book. I didn't find his stories interesting, entertaining or amusing.

Witty and observant. I'm down.

This is a very funny book. I did not know who Dave Hill was before reading this book and now I know him as the author of the funniest book I read last year. I was so delighted by his prose I even read the acknowledgements.

I still love David Sedaris more, but this was pretty funny stuff :)

I greatly enjoyed this book, sometimes even laughing out loud. The self-deprecating humor and pleasurable writing style made it quick and fun. I saw some similarities between this book and one of my all time favorites, [b:Working Stiff: The Misadventures of an Accidental Sexpert|12551|Working Stiff The Misadventures of an Accidental Sexpert|Grant Stoddard|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1166504510s/12551.jpg|996350]. While most of the time I was laughing, there was one chapter that left me saying "GET OUT OF MY HEAD, DAVE!" and that was A Funny Feeling. There is also one point I would like to make: I used to live in Chicago, and I certainly never wanted to move to New York. Just an FYI for your footnotes, buddy.

Dave Hill's tell-some (vs tell-all) collection of essays both delights and disappoints.

First thoughts: as a follower of Hill on Twitter, I was looking forward to his dry, self-effacing humor. I didn't necessarily dislike any of the essays, but I wasn't super pumped about them either. All together solid yet forgettable.

Favorite quote: "Sometimes you have to write your own story to really understand your own story."

Final thoughts: the final stories were the most enjoyable. I'll most likely stick to his Twitter in the future.
