Vividly written, and immerses the reader in the magical and wondrous world of books, libraries, and their history in Oxford and beyond. I loved the characters and the tale from two different centuries. I loved learning about the early days of printing (although fictionalized, the details in the story are clearly meticulously researched, and fascinating!) I bought "Endymion Spring" about 17 years ago and finally pulled it out of one of my many bookcases to read this month. I'm so glad I did!!

This book was very similar in subject, tone, and pacing to Inkheart. It was pretty boring. It takes place in modern England and 15th century Germany. There is a book containing all knowledge. Everyone is looking for it. If you liked Inkheart, give it a try.
A book about a book that leads to a book that could be used to take over the world. Books are good and all but that`s a bit too many books. A typical save-the-world novel with a bit of flashback.
Read this book years ago and definitely forgot about it until now!

This was a well developed story with plenty of creative elements and some excellent history mixed in, but it seemed a bit wordy and the pacing didn't quite work for me.
I'm not sure who the audience for this book is, because the main characters' ages and the simplicity of the villain and plot indicate middle grade, but the vocabulary used and references to literary and historical figures indicate older readers.
The whole thing just fell flat. A lot of details seem glossed over. The characters were one dimensional. Blake's parents' relationship was super problematic, especially during the "resolution" at the end. Endymion's storyline was interesting, but otherwise I kept waiting for a hook that never came.

I couldn't put this down! An amazing book with no negative points whatsoever. Up there with 'The Thief Lord' and 'His Dark Materials'!
