This book took me a long time to read because I found it very emotional with the struggle the characters were going through, dealing with the death of Jax. I think it took me two weeks to read 75% of it and then I finished the last bit in one sitting. It pulled at every heart string and I almost didn't finish it but I am so glad I did because the ending was good and a happy one

**Thank you to Pigeonhole for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review**
I wasn't too sure at first with this one but once I got into it, I found it hard to put down.
Single mum Sadie lives a humdrum life bringing up her only child (Norman) alone. Often questioning her parenting skills she struggles knowing what to say to her beloved son. This is further impacted when Normans best friend Jax dies tragically leaving a huge hole in Normans life.
Norman and Jax had created a 5 year plan ending with them performing at the Edinburgh Fringe and fulfilling their dreams of becoming comedy geniuses. To honor Jax - Sadie and Norman decide to bring the plan forward with the help of elderly but tech savvy Leonard. To further complicate things Norman decides he wants to find his father which is one of 4 possible one night stands that Sadie had whilst in the throws of grief after suddenly losing her father.
What follows is a road trip from Cornwall to Scotland stopping at various points to check Normans parentage and allow him to practice for his comedy debut. Each stop delivers new memorable characters who each help Sadie and Norman in their own way.
The writing style is smooth with lots of humour and the story flows nicely and gets quite action packed towards the end!
Yes there are some elements that seemed a bit too convenient but I could overlook them for the sake of this heartwarming tale of love, grief and family.
