I just loved it. I don't know what else I can say. This book breaks your heart in one sentence and makes you laugh the next. As someone who has also lost their childhood best friend I truly related to Norman in so many ways. The characters are all so unconventional and relatable. The plot was a zany adventure and a fantastic time. Plus the last quarter of the book had me racing to turn the pages and see what antics the characters got up to next. This book is all about love, loss, and family and it handles each of these themes with grace and wit. I'll say it again I just loved this book.
I was given this ARC by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a brilliant read! It is definitely one of my favourite reads of the year!
It had me feeling sad and heartbroken for Norman and Sadie one minute and laughing out loud the next. I loved all the different characters we met along the way, especially Leonard. I loved how they all stepped up to support Norman along the way with their own words of wisdom/advice.
I wouldn't mind a sequel with Norman, Sadie, Leonard and Co!
Thank you to PH and Julietta for the chance to read this book.
I would definitely recommend it!

Heartwarming, poignant and well written. This was an engrossing read and I loved the style of writing and the fleshed out characters.
It's good debut and I hope to read other books by this author.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

It’s hard to believe this was a debut novel. It was written as if coming from a well seasoned author.
This book is heartbreaking and heartwarming. It is sad and incredibly sweet. It will tug on all of your heart strings.
The trio that hits the road and the unlikely friendships they make along the way are some of my favorite characters ever. They’re all so quirky and yet completely relatable.
There are so many life lessons to take away from the story, but my favorite is “one never knows.”
I definitely recommend this story, and I’ll be reading Julietta’s next novel for sure!

I stumbled across The Funny Thing About Norman Foreman as it was the only book available in my library's audiobook collection that appealed (and this was fully based on a fellow Bookstagrammer's review - luckily I trusted her judgement). Thank the lord I listened because it's turned out to be one of my favourite reads of the year so far!
First up - this is an absolute audiobook recommendation - the narrator (Katherine Parkinson) does an incredible job of bringing alive the characters that Julietta Henderson so brilliantly crafted. I laughed out loud in public on far too many occasions to be classed as normal. I rarely react that way to books which is how I know that this is absolute British comedy gold at its finest.
From geriatric Leonard, the free-library-course enthusiast and slightly erratic vintage car driver to nervous Norman who, not only decides to bag himself a slot at the Fringe after his best friend/comedy sidekick dies but also suffers from a horrid case of psoriasis and decides it's the perfect time while on the journey to the Fringe to maybe find his dad - an enigma that his mum somehow manages to whittle down to four elusive blasts from the past.
It's an absolute rollercoaster of one hilarious feat after another, yet still manages to retain every ounce of authenticity. I loved the feel-good vibes this book gave me and I am absolutely holding out for this one to become a film. Cast Mel Giedroyc as Sadie and you're onto a winner.
