A graphic novel where a modern-day young woman experiences life in the American internment camps where Japanese Americans were detained during WW2. It was interesting and heartbreaking and I learned SO MUCH; I didn't know there was an internment camp here in Utah. Knowing it happened will hopefully make us more prepared to oppose it if it ever gets to a point someone wants to do it again. Loved the illustrations.

Loved this book. Very hard hitting, but also a very unique way of mixing fiction with history. This story pays a lovely homage to the author's family.

I never expected to see Trump’s face in a graphic novel & it greatly disturbed me at first. Kiku Hughes’ family story is an important one tho & it’s happening again now.

I don’t usually read graphic novels, so this was a nice change! The story is so so important and I’m glad I got to learn more about the history of internment camps
