Solid improvement of the series and now I'm looking forward to the next one.
One minus is that the backstory for everything doesn't need to be explained. Sometimes less is more because it allows your imagination to fill in the gaps.

wow! this one was more epic and violent than brass man. there was redemption and death, truth revealed, failures and successes. we've gone from alien races to AI machinations. can't wait to read the next book!

Another episode in the events of the Polity universe and the attack on it by the alien Jain technology and now rogue AIs.
A very enjoyable read as Ian Cormac discovers that he is more like Horace Blegg than he thought. With Skellor gone, Jain technology finds new allies and the rogue AI Erebus makes its presence known.

Continues the good quality, if standard fare, sci-fi writing.
