I felt compelled reading this series since I've seen it everywhere for years, but never had the chance to read it. The the way it's written with is insufferable, strange metaphors and the repeating of the words is so awkward.

At the same time I'm curious to read the rest of the series since it is so successful...

A few things I want to say about this… but firstly, I feel like I just slipped into and witnessed someone else’s fever dream.

It felt like it took too long to get going and then once it was it felt like nothing really happened or felt too surface level.

None of the potential love interests felt like good “choices” for the FMC. And the MMC she chooses here? Meh. I was underwhelmed and not sold on their love story at all.

In fact it really only started getting interesting towards the end which I feel will lead to the rest of the series. I know it’s only supposed to get better from here so I am for sure going to continue with the next installment.

I actually liked the writing style she chose for this. It felt like we were listening to Juliette’s chaotic intrusive thoughts to give a good idea into where her headspace was at. The beginning also had some very memorable one-liners that I felt were very prose-y and beautiful in themselves.

Overall? It was… fine… I guess. I probably won’t reread this unless the next installments give me reason to via any kind of foreshadowing, but I am hopeful we get more out of Juliette and the other characters.
