there were so many incredible moments in this book that made me sit and think. there are countless correlations between the story and the world we live in right now. whilst some parts weren’t executed as well as others, i still liked it a lot!

Most of this book but not grab me. The last few chapters where the savage is arguing with the controller are really engaging though. By far best part of the book.

I appreciate this is meant to be like a 1984 style book but I did really struggle to keep up with it and what everything was etc. Towards the end it did kind of start coming together a bit but honestly think I'll have to give it another go one day

I was surprised at how weak Bernard was at the end of the book. I like the subversion of his initial beliefs as he was confronted with being exiled. The conviction of our beliefs can easily change when confonted with the consequences. I loved the writing style and I understand why it's a modern classic!

The beginning was quite slow. But really pick up when Bernard went to the savage reservation. The clash of cultures. The misunderstand & how sad John at wits end against the controller, the truth. I currently taking sociology and it always fascinated how different one can be even in their own society.
