Wow.
SpoilerI expected them to find Peter dead; I didn't expect them to actual watch him get killed right in front of them. And I didn't expect him to die for Clara, but honestly, that was so well done. I'm glad he got a small redemption arc here.

#10 and Louise Penny does it again, breaking my heart a little bit more this time.....

Unlike the previous books in this series, I solved most of the mystery myself before I reached the end. It was still an emotional story though.
I listened to the audiobook.

Brilliant, beautiful, heart-breaking...

Best one yet.

It was just sad to see this story arc end here. I had hoped for redemption. I am stopping now- I recommend the first 10 books but there’s a natural pause here if you want to take a break.

I liked the character development in this story, but the asbestos thing was not plausible and did not seem to have been adequately researched.

Thud. Kind of a let down after #9. I guess it would have to be, because #9 was so good, but still. Disappointing.

And, not for nothing, but in the first Gamache book we're told that Clara not only attended art college, but also taught there for a while. That's a little disconnect from this book, wouldn't you say?
