The Morrows aren’t my favorite Three Pines residents so as they are the featured characters of this book, it wasn’t my favorite. However I just love how these people rally around each other.

I had really low expectations based on the reviews and ended up liking it similarly to the rest of the series, even more so than certain previous installments.

After the last one, I figured this would be slower. It was and then...

I literally had a book hangover after the 9th installment of the Gamache series. It was an amazing read. I put off reading this one because I had no idea how it could be as good. Well it wasn’t. The plot dragged. This installment was very character driven and seemed to be mostly about Gamache facing his demons. I will definitely continue reading the series but this is not one I’d revisit.
