Seemed like a lesbian Dresden files.

The book is not bad and I enjoyed it, but there is a.disconnect here between the mature scenes and the, for lack of a better word, parody type jokes throughout the book. It is almost as if this was a young adult novel trying to been an adult one. The storyline is good if predictable and it is not a disappointing read, but if you're a fan of the supernatural detective series the Kassandra Lyall series is better, less repetitive, and still sticks to the lesbian genre. If you're just looking for a supernatural crime novel, pick up the Dresden Files.

Turns out femme fatales just don't work for me even when they're vamping on women. DNF, YMMV.

The end is a bit more sudden than I typically prefer, but overall a solid read. Also less spicy with a more interesting plot than I expected. Surprisingly, the least problematic werewolves of any urban fantasy series I've come across. A good sense of humor runs though the writing.

I laughed, I really did. This was a lot of fun and I enjoyed it. Yet it seems that Alexis Hall’s fantasy books and I just aren’t meant to be. This was my 3rd try with one of his fantasies, and it was certainly the best of the 3, but I still finished it without caring enough about the characters to proceed to the next in the series.
