This was my favorite of the series so far and I am so happy Ronan gets his own book. We deserve it
🌶️ Rating: 3/5
I honestly can’t believe this series is still going. I will say this book was much better than the last one. The twists and turns in this plot, kept the story moving along. All the weird stuff with his family and his brother and the mine collapsing. All that was entertaining. She’s finally standing up to her dumb mom. And the whole drama with the boyfriend back home is over. But there’s just something about the way these characters are written that Henry and Abbi have like zero chemistry to me. It seems like they should not be together. There’s some thing about him. That’s just kind of dry and conniving. I don’t feel the devotion from him the way that we feel it from her. And her devotion is almost to the point where it’s like unhealthy. I don’t know, the dynamics in this are wild. And honestly, her chemistry with Rowan is way better. The best scene in this book was the scene with Rowan. And I think the best scene in the last book was the scene with Connor and Rowan. Like the chemistry and everything is just there more with them. I also really hated when they brought Rowan in. It felt like using him. Henry said I never wanna share you again. Barely enjoyed it when they did. But he did it for Abbi so she could experience that in her life. I just thought that was so stupid and really unkind to Rowan and I didn’t like it. I also don’t see how we can get more out of this. Like it sounded like a pretty good wrap up at the end of book 4.

I refuse.. there is absolutely NOTHING you could put into a FIFTH book that would be worth taking the time to read. I am content with this ending because honestly, these books are good.. not great.
