Getting the stories behind Celaena that had been sprinkled throughout books 1, 2, and 3 (I read assassin’s blade after heir of fire) was fun and provided context. I will say, knowing that Sam was going to die the entire time felt anticlimactic. It was also hard to see Celaena be so immature and naive, when she has changed and grown into someone so different after heir of fire. I hope she gets her revenge.
