This was well-written and a quick read. I laughed alot, but oof, several of the characters, including one of the heros, were just irredeemable to me. Or, at least, they were irredeemable without a lot more work and effort towards improving themselves.

It might have been the amazing audiobook narration that made this so enjoyable, but I couldn't put it down despite the one main character being a complete, inexcusable sociopath. I enjoyed the over-the-top, almost satirical level of contempt for all politics throughout the plot.

I just can’t read about such unlovable characters. I’m getting frustrated and sad, I feel really bad for Clay and I’m hating Thom. I did read some reviews and it seems like Thom doesn’t get much of a redemption and I just can’t keep reading when it’s making me so uncomfortable.
