Re-read. I still love the kids just as much, they were such well-fleshed-out characters and their relationships with everyone in their lives were adorable. Diana was an amazing mother figure and deserves the world. However, I like the love interest a little less this time around.

I only got to 11% with this, so no rating. Maybe I should’ve given it more time, but I just couldn’t get into it. Already the two kids were annoying me, the H had a wedding ring on, the old witch across the road was a shameless racist, and the H’s house was a pigsty. A lot of pet peeves for me to be bothered dealing with - it’s like the author was trying to annoy me!!!

I’m surprised with the poor offering this time around from a usually great author.

3 1/2 stars, In Mariana Zapata fashion, it was very much a slow burn that had a bit of a slower start and honestly, it could have been a little shorter overall. That being said, when it took off it was lovely and sweet and angsty goodness
