This was easily one of the best books i’ve ever read. I could not put it down. THE BOYS ARE SO PERFECT. I LOVE LOUIE AND JOSH THEY ARE SO SO SO ADORABLE THEY MADE THE BOOK. I loved the crossover with The Wall of Winnipeg and Me and Kulti. I missed those characters. Mariana is the queen of slow burn bc my girl does it right. I loved Dallas and I LOVED Diana, she was so funny and strong and i really loved everything about this book.

DID NOT FINISH: 45%

Was really liking the book, although everything was taking a really long time to find out. Like at almost half way I don’t know how the brother died or what exactly happened to the wife. I was expecting this slow pace from reading the Wall of Winnipeg and Me previously and was ready to just push through. Then I found out she’s made some suspiciously racist remarks about Filipinos on twitter and even in two of her books. Super disappointing to find out as I liked that Diana was Mexican American in this one.

Always a fan of Mariana Zapata. Despite it being a longer book, I found that some of the chapters felt brief because of how they ended and the other began. Sometimes they easily flowed together; other times you quickly jumped to another day or month sometimes seeming to forgot the prior chapter. I really loved Dallas and Diana (and the boys). I wish we got to dive deeper into the other side plots and have those more woven into their story.

Mariana zapata books never miss

I usually hate slow burn. But oh my god I think I'm in love with it now. I can't wait to read something else by this author.

I've reread this book AT LEAST once a year since the first time I read it. Good ol' reliable.
