This is an amazing story predating the struggle between Captain Hook and Peter Pan. It shows the beginning of it all and the twisting road that created these two amazing fictional characters from a remarkable point of view. I would recommend this to anyone over the age of 14 but not below due to some aspects of this story could be scary for those who are used to the fairy dust stories kids are used to.

My first thought upon finishing this book was...

W O W !

This is the BEST fairy tale retelling book I've ever read!

But holy hell was it dark. I need some fluffy palate cleanser and a couple of hugs after this book.

This was it. The last peter pan retelling I will ever read.
I didn't hate it, it was good for what it was. But In my heart of hearts I'm a peter pan purist and nothing will ever be better.

I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars. The writing is good and the story is intriguing but it’s definitely a little gruesome and not really my style. A cool retelling though and very interesting.
