The idea is good. The execution sucked.
Honestly, the author is getting in their own way with how they write. It’s so repetitive and boring, I barely was able to finish.
I did like the flip-book aspect though.

fast-paced
The plot is fun and kept me hooked at a couple of places but the writing and characterization is absolutely terrible.
- This books reads like a detailed outline that hasn't been edited. There's entirely too much telling and almost no showing.
- All the characters are bland and one dimensional
- The beginning of the book rushes too much. It's like it wants to get Holly to meet Dylan as fast as possible when it could have started with them meeting and the book building around their characters and the plot from there.
- The dialogue between characters feels generic and unnatural, it's like they're performing.
- I looked up the author and apparently she's Belgian, which is very apparent in her writing, because the book reads like a literal translation from Dutch/Flemish instead of being originally written in English. This gets a little better throughout the story, but the first two chapters were really hard to get through.
- I have nothing against intimacy in books, but they had done it so many times by the time the first part of the book was over, it was starting to annoy me. Especially because when their sexual encounters were more detailed, it was written horribly.
If I could rate it a 0 I would have
