The illustrations were very interesting, the stories were morbid and cool, but there was just something missing for me.

So, the very first issue of this volume is structured like a palindrome, i.e. the story itself can be read exactly the same forwards and backwards, and can I just say...wow! The story ends exactly where it began, and the entire journey feels futile; it'd be absurd really, if it weren't so surreal. If you're a masochist, like I am, you'll read it backwards, then forwards again, and nothing will change. It's chilling. It left me with a hollow feeling deep in my core that sinks ever downward with every re-read. This is just the sort of existential despair I yearn for in fiction! Oh gosh lol 10/10! Snaps and claps all around!!

What a strange, unsettling series. This volume was stronger than most. It opens with a story that is a palindrome-it can be read forwards and backwards. An interesting formal experiment with great art. The story itself, though packed with horrifying visuals was light. The next 3 stories had more meat to them as they weren't bogged down in a formal exercise. They were well made contraptions- some horror elements and terrifying visuals but mainly well constructed stories with trap doors waiting to be sprung on expectedly waiting readers. It was like being in a haunted house attraction. You know the ghost is going to pop out at the corner and you anticipate it and still it causes a scream or jump when it lunges out.
