I think Agatha Christie's writing lends herself very well to the short story format. I find that some of her novels tend to move a little slowly at points, but this problem is solved with this compilation. I enjoyed 3/4 of the short stories though some of them are less mysteries than others. The Hercule Poirot selections were the strongest in the bunch with my least favorite being the Miss Marple. I hate to say it, but Miss Marple bores me utterly. I could hardly follow the threads of her short story even with the narration. I feel like with her short stories all of the action tends to happen at the end, but maybe that's just me. I was very excited that I was able to determine who the culprit was for a good number of Hercule Poirot stories. It might be because I've been reading more Agatha Christie, so I'm starting to get more familiar with her formula of red herrings or it could even be that Hastings was not present to feed misinformation to the reader. Either way, I loved listening to this audiobook. The varying narration and the changes in intonation and accent was just so fun.

A pretty fun group of stories. Interestingly enough I think the Parker Pyne ones were my favorite in this bunch. I honestly barely got through the miss Marple one though because the narrator on that one had a really intense lisp and it was super distracting. Short stories are still not my preferred medium but I have to say they're growing on me.

Christie had a magnificent mind for telling stories with unexpected twists. I’ve been reading Christie novels & watching screen adaptations for long enough that I can usually figure out who the villain is but I usually am surprised to learn how the investigator got there. I will say, Miss Marple is the one who often gets to the solution in the most creative ways that almost always delightfully surprises me.

Some of the authors most loved characters appear in this work of short stories and it's highly entertaining and delightful. Included are six shorts done performed by different narrators and was well done.
