I don’t usually read romance books but this gave me a reality tv show vibe and in all for it, also the love triangle. I love Americas’ character, i loath Celeste to my core. I’m Routing for Maxon. I love the world building they had with the rebels and the creativity behind how the country was named. I absolutely cant wait for this to be adapted.

Holy crap, I’m shocked I’ve never read this book before! FANTASTIC. I thought I had read this series but I had mistaken it with the ‘Matched’ series by Allie Condie (a similar almost ‘love triangle’ occurs in that book too).

Im so excited to read the rest of the series. I don’t even know who I hope America ends up with. I’m guessing she’ll end up with Maxon because why else would America be in a gown for the entire series on every cover?

Note to self: I read this book solely via audiobook.

A brick wall quite literally has more personality than the main character of this book.

The names seem like they were pulled out from some random name generator thing that gives you a name based on their favourite bloody colour.
I'm sorry... America?? Her name is Ame- I can't.
Maxon. MAXON. HE SOUNDS LIKE A HORSE.

Calling this a dystopian is embarrassing. The plot in this book is embarrassing. The dialogue is embarrassing. The writing? Youuuuu guessed it. Embarrassing.

This book definitely had the potential to be a good book. Hence the two stars... but instead it turned out to be an absolute shit show.

Wouldn't recommend.

I LOVE THIS BOOK. It's definitely a very standard book with no major plot twists  but it's just so relaxing and fun to read. I read this in less than a week and i'm so excited to read the next one. Def recommend, it's pretty light and fluffy.

okay for a first book in a series i guess? i keep having to remind myself this is a YA book tht was written like a decade ago so it’s a bit more shallow and unserious at times but i’ll see what book 2 saying
