This was pitch black romance at its finest. It has everything you’d look for in this type of book.
The characters were very well written. The emotion and travma from Noir’s past shines though. It’s horrifying and mysterious at the same time. You wonder if she’s really losing her mind or if she’s actually sane as the story progresses. She is broken but strong AF and I loved watching her come into her own with the help of Hellion. She was the walking dead and he brings her to life and makes her FEEL.
Hellion is perfect for Noir. He knows exactly what she needs and craves and loves to deliver. His darkness matches her. “We’re made for one another. She is my twin fvcking flame.” He delivers on the un hinged, possessive mother fvcker vibes and I loved all of it.
The carnival setting was great and Dark Night? Perfection.
We get a little bit of a twist in the story with some mystery and intrigue that I really enjoyed. And we get a peek at the other Hollow boys. I feel like Hell is a lot to live up to but I have a feeling Wrath and Soul will deliver.
This is a total pitch black romance. Please take the warnings at the beginning of the book seriously. These books are not for your average joe, but if you dare, just know there is no going back!

Ok first and foremost - check the triggers before reading because you are definitely in for a wild ride!
From the start, there was just something about Hellion that captivated me so I completely get where Noir is coming from. No matter what she did there was no escaping him because once Hell had his eyes set on her it was over, but what he didn’t realize was that pain and suffering was nothing new to her. In fact, she welcomed it with open arms so you already know she’s gone through something traumatic and dark. Coming to the Oddity Circus though sparked something in her .. something that she hadn’t felt in a long time and so I was glad she had Hell there to help her explore it and get through it all. And before I end this - I have to say that the spice in this was C-R-A-Z-Y and definitely had me questioning myself. 😏😮💨 I cannot wait to see what Jodie writes next!

Once again Jodie did not disappoint 👏🏾. This was dark, depraved, and deliciously twisted! Hellon and Noir's story puts you through every possible emotion. And you're left wanting more! The things Hellon did to Noir had me questioning my sanity and morals because I liked it just was much as she did. The smut was smutting on a whole other level. And the plot was just as good. All the plot twist and revelations had me gasping and screaming"I knew it." I can't wait to get Wrath and Soul's stories because I just know they will be even more unhinged

wow this book was DARK, but expected. this is the second book i've ever read by jodie king and i will continue to be one of her dedicated readers!
this book was crazy, but in a good way. i've always had a fascination with the circus and i knew i had to sign up for this arc!
this book follows noir and hell, two lost and broken souls. noir has been through so much as a child and the trauma she carried into her grown up self was so sad. i am so glad she had hell to help get her through everything. she is one of the strongest FMCs i know.
- found family
- secret society
- MCs with past trauma
- murder/death/gore

Wow, that was wild, unsettling, gory, and utterly unhinged, and I absolutely loved it! Hell's intense, possessive madness and his obsession with Noir were captivating. Their craziness perfectly complemented each other, making it absolutely perfect. I can't wait to read Soul and Wrath's stories. I've fallen head over heels for this deranged carnival and circus!
What a deliciously dark and depraved story! I absolutely ate this up!
Hell is that completely unhinged MMC that makes us question our morals and our sanity. I adored him so much. He gave Aero Westwood from That Sik Luv vibes but in a horror carnival setting. I loved it so much. The absolutely depraved spicy scenes left me blushing and questioning a lot of things about myself.
The overall story and plot were so good. It was dark and intense and left me needing more. I truly did not expect some of those twists and turns. I love it when the plot keeps you guessing all the way til the very end. I can not wait for the other Hollow's boys stories!
This is definitely not for the faint of heart. Please check triggers!

This book was intense to say the least! Hollow hellion is a lot of things, some I was prepared for, others that surprised me, and I loved it for that!
On one hand, there is this obsessive and all consuming love story. This romance wasn’t sweet or gentle. Oh no, it was a story born in madness and pain, between two complex characters that learned to embrace their darkness rather than trying to tame it. It was demented, but delightful.
On the other hand, there was all the mayhem, the bloodshed, the chaos that surrounded the cirque, and our characters. The story and the plot were intriguing, while more developed in the second half of the book, it has enough twists and action to keep things really interesting until the last page.
These two sides of the book merged together perfectly creating this intoxicating story. I was so engrossed in all the frenzy that I almost forgot I was reading. I absolutely devoured this book.
It was fabulous. It was wild, completely unhinged, and oh boy it was sexy! This is one of the spiciest book I’ve read. That’s all I have to say.
So if you like horror in your pitch black romance, read this one!
