I thought that this was a great book for kids just getting past chapter books. Pearson was smart in working with Disney characters and villians in the Disney Parks. Even without going to Disney world, I would say a majority of children in America can recognize characters like Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Maleficient, and Jack Sparrow. It dips into the Disney culture in a way not many books do, and I am interested to see where Pearson takes his characters from here.

This book reads very differently as a grown up.
The last time I read this, I was a 10 year old Disney fiend, and in the 15 years since, I actually had the opportunity to work in the magic kingdom. So I read this clear advertisement with a lot more cynicism now.
Still enjoyable, though.
I think with some editing and updating, it’d make an amazing animated series for Disney+

I'm not sure what I was expecting when I picked this up but it certainly wasn't this.
I had been recommended this book as an easy read that was gripping and set in Walt Disney World.

Initially I felt a bit lost and thrown into the middle of the story with much of the necessary back details filled in later on.
It was an okay read but nothing spectacular.

"What happens at Disney World when the crowds are gone?" is a really cool hook for a children's book. I wish the story had been a little quicker to get into the meat of the stuff at the park, but it was fun. I'll definitely read at least the next couple and see what happens with the series. Fun, easy read that might be good for reluctant readers.

i read this series like five years ago and i was so confused

Read this aloud to my 7 & 8 year olds. The kids loved it; found it fairly suspenseful. I liked the "backstage" information that Ridley Pearson provided of the Disney parks.

I first read this when I was very young and most of the magic that I loved about it feels like product placement on a revisit.
