Any book that can keep my interest so well that I can't put it down even to eat, gets 5 stars! I'll definitely be reading the rest of this series!

I'm a series reader. I'm more likely to read a book in a series than I am to read a stand alone. So I was more than surprised when after I read this book I didn't want to read the other installments of the Tale of the Sazi series.

Now I enjoyed Hunter's Moon. It kept my interest, the two main characters didn't get on my nerves all the time, and it was a quick, entertaining read. If it was purely a stand alone book I would have rated Hunter's Moon 4 stars, but it lost a star because I didn't care whether I read more of the series or not. Part of the point (at least IMO) of the first book in a series is to make the reader want to continue reading the other installments. Unfortunately the authors failed at that.

This was interesting and I enjoyed the world but I felt the complete lack of Suzi's point of view hurt the novel a lot. I really think this would have been better with both characters' points of view.

Also I feel like the escape at the end wasn't really a resolution and I'd have liked to see Sue grow into a stronger character which she didn't really.

The world was overall interesting as were the characters. The sex scenes were a but bland but I appreciate the focus on plot and substance over sex. I'm not sure I'd really call this a romance because while it included one it felt more like an introduction to Tony's really weird life of monsters and shifters.

It was okay overall, I'm not sure I'm super hooked on the series though.

looking through the reviews there is a lot of mixed thoughts on this book!!

I must admit.....it is one of those you have to 'get through' before things start to get better.

this book is basically setting it up for the next few - characters, the roles they play, ...you just need to get thru the first bits....

.....which tbh I found pretty ok to read. wasn't boring and I enjoyed finding about Tony and his wolf /Family status. Sue was a surprise as she's not (in your mind when Tony describes her) but makes a nice change from "her eyes sparkled the most beautiful ice blue, hair cascading in flowing golden locks. Her body was amazing and firm in all the right places.."...... you get my drift!!!

I'm on the 3rd book now so this is retrospective review which I have to say I'm glad I waited to write the review otherwise it may have sounded a little disappointed like some of the others.
.I'll keep reading until the "skim read" hits!

This was a story that was quite different than I was expecting to find. Unlike most times when I go to my local library, I only had a couple books on my list, because I wanted to just pick a couple random books to try out, and I grabbed this book up. I was intrigued by the set up, the heroine going to the hero to get him to kill her. I didn’t know why until I started reading, and when you learn I didn’t know why it was so necessary she wanted to kill herself, but her family is pretty crazy (literally), I mean some of the actions her mothers takes is outrageous and she should be put in a mental hospital, just so she can have some attention. The whole suicide over idiotic family members, is why my rating is lower than a 5, because I just couldn’t understand that her reasons were valid enough, but if I had a family like this one, I might think differently. I think what I admired most about this story was seeing how the hero and heroine develop a relationship with each other. This story was different in the way that it was from the hero’s POV. That was quite different, it is quite rare to see that. At times it threw me off, because I am used to reading third person or if its in 1st person its from the heroine’s POV. The paranormal element in this story is there, but it isn’t super strong like I was expecting it to be. In fact, in many ways it seemed to lean more toward a contemporary romance than a paranormal one. Both characters had their own unique set of handling situations, and boy was Tony great in how he handles Sue. He is patient and understanding, but at the same times doesn’t allow her to lean on him to much for help with her family, he tries to make her realize that she has to stand up to them. Toward the later half of the story, the plot accelerates and adds a bit of suspense/mystery aspects to the mix and it really gets intense. The ending was better than I expected, I was hoping it wouldn’t be a huge cliffhanger since the next book involves this pair too. But it was a short and sweet ending, I did feel it was a bit too abrupt for my tastes, but I am thinking it might have been done on purpose. But overall a fantastic story that kept me fascinated from page one, and now I can’t wait to get hold of book 2!!

After reading some of the comments, I was hesitant to read this book. The main female is a bit stupid even though she is portrait as being intelligent, and that being her "leading attribute". Honestly is wasn't bad, it's a quick read and kinda cute with some tear jerker scenes. The story has made me curious enough to read the next book, but I don't have a dying compulsion to do so. Give the first chapter a chance and if you like it you do and if you don't, well at least you know.

I like sue's and Tony's relationship. The assassin angel was interesting. The book could get a little boring and repetitive at times. The main thing that redeemed it was the action at the end
