I enjoyed this book by Nikki Lynn Barrett. Peaceful Slumber was a story about a ghost with a twist. It was unique and that is a good thing. Peaceful Slumber had it all...love, mystery, and some suspense, everything needed to make a good story. The story of Scott and Zelda was very interesting and I liked it. Nikki Lynn Barrett is a good author and I look forward to reading more from her.

I thought I had read other books by Nikiki Lynn Barrett, but to my surprise this is the first! I am so excited to have found a new to me author that I like...no that I love! Even the cover is great and I really don’t care about covers!

Peaceful Slumber is a mystery with a little romance, with a little paranormal, with a big adventure! This is a story that I could not put down. I had to know what was going to happen, who was going to do it and why it was happening! Barrett put just enough suspicion in this story that anything was possible.

I love stories that touch on social situations. Barrett has chosen mental health. While it is a very serious topic, her story gives a little hope to those who also suffer. Finding that one person who is your one is hard enough and being anything different makes it even harder.

Zelda is the female main character and Barrett really puts her through every tough situation you could think of. Except Zelda doesn’t remember any of it. Including her own name. Scott seems like the only one that could help her. They are both lost souls who are a little different and they are perfect for each other. However, with so much unknown in this story it doesn’t look like there will be a happy ending.

The storyline is ORIGINAL…at least from my list of books. I really love this story!

I highly recommend this story and can not wait to read anything by Barrett! Since this is the first book in the Soul Connection series, there will be more!!!

Peaceful Slumber is the first book in the Soul Connection Series by Nikki Lynn Barrett. It is a wonderful paranormal romance, with ghosts, drama, mystery, second chances, and plenty of feeling. I really enjoy Ms. Barrett’s work, her stories are always well written, captivating and very enjoyable. I’ve read a few of her books now and this one is totally different from any of the others that I’ve read, and I loved it!
We meet Scott Henderson who is a bit of a loner, he’s socially awkward and has a bit of a chip on his shoulder. But he also has the ability to see and hear ghosts. He wasn’t born with the ability, but after a traumatic event caused him to die for several minutes before being resuscitated, he awoke to his new ‘reality’. He tries his best to ignore the ghosts and doesn’t really know how to deal with them. People in general, living or dead, just make him feel awkward. So, when a beautiful ghost in a blood-soaked wedding dress captures his attention, he is surprised that he feels so compelled to help her.
Zelda wakes up in a fog, not knowing who she is or how she came to be wearing a wedding dress covered in blood. She is lost, alone and scared. She soon discovers that she’s a ghost, invisible to the world around her. How will she figure everything out if no one can see her to help her? But then she stumbles upon Scott, and he is able to see her- not only that, but he’s also willing to help her figure out who she is and what happened to her. And so, the adventure begins!
The story has a great pace and a smooth flow. It was so easy to read. It is told from several POV’s that give this story quite a lot of added interest.
Ms. Barrett infused so much suspense, tension, chemistry and emotion into the story. She had me on the edge of my seat, and guessing, the whole way through. She created a wonderfully complex and multi-layered storyline that was woven around a very intriguing puzzle. The story had so many inter-connected characters and situations, but Ms. Barrett choreographed the whole thing into a seamless and smooth read. There were tears, laughs, smiles, nail biting intrigue, beautiful romance and so much more.
I can’t wait for the next book!

Thank you, Ms. Barrett!

Scott sees ghosts whether he wants to or not. Zelda is in the cemetery in a bloody wedding dress when he sees her. They are drawn to each other without explanation. Can he help her recover her memories? Can they figure out what happened? The story is amazing. I sat on the edge of my seat throughout.

Peaceful Slumber (Soul Connection Book 1) by Nikki Lynn Barrett

Im sitting here asking myself..What did I just read? This is not my first book by this author and I guess thats what has me questioning myself. This book has everything you expect when reading a book by this author, it's just a whole different type of book and I must say..I loved it!! It had me on the edge of my seat from page 1, I literally read it in one sitting while drinking a whole pot of coffee.

I had no idea what to expect when i read the synopsis for this book but it had me curious enough to try it and I'm so glad I did. There is so much going on in this story and my mind was reeling all the way through trying to figure out what happened to Zelda, how did she end up showing up in a cemetery, in a wedding dress, covered in blood and mud during the funeral for Scotts uncle, and why is Scott the only one that can see her? Not only that but why can Scott see her and many others. There are so many questions in this book that I found myself needing answers to. Scotts past somewhat kinda sorta explains his predicament, but Zelda's is a mystery that needs to be solved. I loved these two characters and Jeff was an awesome addition!!

How she weaved these words to create this amazing story made me almost believe this happens every day in the world we live in. It should not have felt real, but it definitely did. I can't wait to see where she goes with the next book, and I'm so glad she went with this idea that she couldn't ignore, I recommend this book highly, it was fun, it was sad, and it will mess with your mind. I loved it!!

Peaceful Slumber by Nikki Lynn Barrett is one story not to be missed. Oh it was not what I imagined but it only made it that much better. It is a paranormal ghost story with twists you will not see coming. I love a tangled web full of mystery and thrills and this one does not disappoint. I loved it as I was unable to guess what was coming up next.

Scott hasn’t always had his gift or is it a curse? What you see is not always what you get. But without it it would not have lead him to the two best things in his life.

This is one page turner that will keep you on the edge of your seat and biting your nails. Nikki good work!!

Peaceful Slumber (Soul Connection Book 1) by Nikki Lynn Barrett was a great read! This book was full of thrills, suspense, twist and turns and romance that kept me reading late into the night and made me not want to stop. This is one of the most interesting stores I've read in a while. This is also the first book I've read from this author, and I was very impressed with her writing style and story telling capabilities. This book left me wanting more and I can't wait for the next installment to this series!

Scott is a young man that has the gift of being able to see and communicate with ghosts. While at a funeral for one of his few endeared family members, he makes contact with a young woman in a bloody wedding dress that has no memory of how she died or who she is. Despite not normally being willing to help the ghosts that come to him, he feels drawn to helping her figure out the mystery that was her life.
This book had a little bit of a slow start, but I was soon caught in trying to piece together the pieces to solve Zelda's (aka Ghost Bride) life. I will admit that none of my predictions despite the love interests came true while reading this book. The end of this book had me on the edge of my seat for a moment and the plot twists in this book are commendable. Definitely a riveting read all in all.
