This was another perfect romantic suspense by Nora Roberts. I love that this one took place in the rugged landscape of Alaska and all that comes with living there. Meg is a strong and independent female lead, but can't help falling for Nate and his bruised soul. The suspense of what is happening in the present time tied with that from the past is remarkable. I definitely enjoyed this one.

This book is more detective/mystery sort of book. I found it refreshing. I also love the secluded setting. Great for winter reading.

I enjoyed the book. Not my favorite Nora book but it was still good.

Interesting to have a heterosexual crime/romance novel that is told from the point of view of the man. Not sure I've read one like that before! Made an interesting change. I listened to the audio book version and the narrator, Gary Littman, performed the book well.

Just nothing happening when it suppose to be a suspense element . Also FMC says some questionable things that I don't enjoy. I tried really hard to get into it but I cant

Definitely a book to read, just a slightly different sort.
If you're interested in alternate universes electrons, protons and the like this is definitely for you, But there is more, it is mostly about Lyra and her daemon Pantalaimon attempting to save their world, or at least the citizens living inside it, apart from the dreaded Mrs.Coulter of course, who strangely strives to aid them on their way, even if that is not what it seems...

I find Nora Roberts a bit hit and miss, but I quite enjoyed this one.  It's a slow moving whodunnit, with a lot of focus on the main character recovering from past trauma, and building a new life.  It's not edge of your seat suspense, and I guessed who did it correctly fairly early on, but I still found the descriptive story telling enjoyable.  The author paints a very vivid picture of the small Alaskan towns people, environment, and the emotional fall out from the discovery of a body. The murder mystery is almost like an extra weaving through the narrative.  It's not a four star for me because I doubt I'll reread it,  but pretty good nonetheless.
