I enjoyed this book from start to finish. I don’t understand why some people call this a thriller when it’s marked as a Women’s fiction book on NetGalley. It’s the kind of story that will keep you wanting to know why things happened. What caused it and who this person really is. At least to me it did.
I recommend this book to anyone that likes a kind of edge of your seat, women’s fiction book. It will keep you turning pages to find out what or who did what. It’s kind of a pull at the heartstrings in places too. I felt bad for Molly and Daniel. They seem to have lots of love but somewhere they have drifted. Molly is in chronic pain and Daniel is frustrated because he can’t seem to make things ok. Or he can’t relate maybe. Liza is Molly’s best friend and they have something that has driven a wedge between them. I felt for Liza so much. Returning back home. Dealing with things that are beyond her control?? All three lives have complications.
It’s a very good book. I enjoyed it very much. It’s one I just might read again.
I gave it a 4.5 star rating.

I had previously read "Almost Missed You" by Jessica Strawser and it broke my heart! I was hoping this latest novel could evoke such intensity of emotion and it came very close even if nothing here drove me to tears. Molly and Liza were the best of friends, and although they tried to remain that way after Liza moved, the distance between them made it impossible. Meanwhile Molly has been suffering debilitating pain, and she and her husband have drifted apart. When Liza and Molly try to rekindle their friendship over a video chat Liza witnesses something she wasn't meant to see. Fearing for Molly and her children Liza drives all night to get to her, and is treated as an unwelcome and unwanted nuisance when she arrives. She is shocked when Molly turns her away. but there's an even bigger shock waiting for Liza when she gets home, and there is just no telling if their friendship or Molly's marriage will survive.

I could not get into this book. It completely dragged for me and I didn't have a connection to any of the characters. The beginning of the book had me hooked but it went downhill from there for me. Just wasn't a thriller/suspense at all to me.
The book started out strong and I liked the characters. Somehow it still managed to bore me and took me forever to finish. But there was enough good about it that I'll likely try another one by this author.
I didn’t like this one as much as Not That I Could Tell. I guess I wanted more of a twist and wasn’t super surprised how this ended. Molly also really annoyed me.
The genre tags for this book were quite off the mark. I almost feel like there was a bait and switch sort of situation going on.
We start out with a video chat between Molly and Liza, two life long friends who have grown apart a bit due to distance and the direction each of their lives have taken them. They're still each other's best friend and the video chat is a substitute "girls night out" while Molly's husband is away on business. When Molly leaves the room to attend to her child, Liza witnesses a masked intruder entering the room. She calls out to him and tries to yell a warning to Molly, but the intruder silently closes the laptop.
And so begins this non-thriller. This is the most, and almost only thriller-type moment of tension in the book. There is A LOT going on, but it's more along the vein of struggling marriage and PTSD. The story moves along through the eyes of Molly, Liza and Molly's husband Daniel, each with their own secrets and struggles.
What ended up being difficult reading for me was relating to Molly so much. Molly began experiencing several different medical ailments after her first pregnancy. Things like TMJ, knee and back pain, migraines. Ailments that maybe aren't visible to those not experiencing it. Molly tries every sort of treatment she can, every drug, but nothing brings her relief. She overhears her five year old son say that women aren't strong because look at Mommy, she can't do anything. When Molly hears that she is stung and I too felt the sting. Shortly after having my second daughter my health deteriorated in ways very similar to Molly's. All things that felt, at times, crippling to me, but outwardly no one could see what was wrong. You begin to feel like people don't really believe you're ill or that it's *that* bad. You start to avoid seeing friends and family because they ask how you feel, but you see their eyes glaze over when you talk about whatever pain you are feeling at that moment. Worst of all, you see the strain on your partner as they take on the things you can no longer do around the house, or with the kids. And you wonder, do they think you're exaggerating. Worst of all, you think, is it all in my head?
Molly's desperation to heal herself leads her into an abyss and while I can't see myself following down that same path, I could very much see how it could happen. And while this wasn't the mystery/thriller/suspense novel I was expecting I still found myself blazing through the pages to see how everything turned out.

A second novel by Strawser, a good one, but not as strong as her first. Forget You Know Me is a domestic suspense novel and relationships, friendships and secrets. What would you do if you saw a stranger in your friend's house and then rushed to her house but then she slams the door in your face and tells you it was probably just a computer glitch?
Although I enjoyed her first novel more, it certainly doesn't mean I didn't enjoy this one. It was still great but honestly anything Strawser writes is amazing. She has a way with words that once you start one of her books, I guarantee you won't be able to stop.
When I knew that she was coming out with a new novel, I knew I had to get my hands on it and I was not disappointed at all. Although there were some times where I felt like I was getting bored, there was a bunch of suspenseful moments in the novel placed at the right time I was so hooked! I missed by stop on the bus while reading this novel. I was so intrigued!
Figuring out who the masked man was, I was so tripped up. You literally suspect everyone and I guarantee you will be guessing throughout the entire novel who it is and you will be very shocked when you find out.
I don't want to spoil the novel but it's a must read for all domestic fans out there!
Thank you to St. Martin's Press for providing me with an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Two best-friend on a long overdue video chat..... Molly has to leave the room when her daughter cries out for her, and Liza sits there patiently waiting. Then a stranger dressed in black with a black ski mask crosses in front of Molly's computer. Liza screams to alert Molly, and the stranger comes over and silently shuts the computer off.
This book had me from the description. It was completely unlike anything I have read lately, and it was well written and enjoyable. It started off a little slow, but once it picked up I didn't want to put it down. Definitely a must-read!

Everyone has had a best friend that was like family. At some point during the relationship distance may separate y’all and things change. For Molly and Liza their friendship was feeling the strain of living in two different states and walking different paths. Molly in Cincinnati (with her husband, Daniel, and their two kids) and Liza in Chicago, single and dating. Their friendship is pushed to its limits and tested in Forget You Know Me by Jessica Strawser.
.
One night Liza and Molly are having a girls night via video chat, trying their best to continue to stay friends despite distance ... and well, life. After a little while Molly gets called upstairs, one of her kids is up out of bed calling her name. While she is gone, Liza witnesses a masked man enter Molly’s home. She is able to startle him, say she is calling the police, but then he closes the computer screen before she can see anything else. Liza freaks out (rightfully so) and tries to no end to get ahold of Molly and the police to find out what happened. After awhile she receives a vague text from Molly saying she is okay. Liza, unsatisfied, decides to drive all night to ensure the safety of Molly and her children. But she is unsure what she will find when she gets to Cincinnati, and even more unsure of what awaits her when she returns to Chicago after.
.
I liked this book, I did want to keep reading to see if my hunch was in fact true (which it was). But my initial thought was that this book wasn’t really a thriller, which I thought it would be (not sure why). I would call it more of a mystery. Every character had some sort of secret they were keeping or half truth they were willing to tell others. Just like with anything those can only be kept a short amount of time and eventually they will come out in the open.
.
I was lucky enough to win a copy of Forget You Know Me from a @goodreads giveaway and receive the @netgalley ARC. I switched back and forth between the two, while reading. If you are looking for a little mystery, some best friend drama, and a little who done it then Forget You Know Me is the book for you. Thank you St Martins Press for the opportunity to read and give an honest review.
