The characters were deep and *relatable*, the plot drew you in like a magnet, and I have saved a few quotes for their cutting-through-nonsense qualities. Definitely worth reading.
But it was SO HEAVY. I’ve ended many a chapter with a heavy sigh and furrowed brows.
The ending to me was anti-climactic. I suppose depending on the angle of your perspective, you could be glad. But I so wanted her to make a different choice, to go with friendship and respect, to go with feeling *good*, not to stay - only to fight for balance again and rely on some leverage to get affection and understanding.
I have not developed enough feelings for the one she chose to be relieved that she did.
Also, I had to take off a star because for me, the phrasing and sentence structure were often hard to get through. I found myself rereading some passages a few times, trying to get what it’s actually trying to say.
I’d say it’s a great book for a book club. Will definitely spur reassessments of values, debates and alternative endings.
To me on my nightly reading it was heavy, but such, I suppose, is life, that this book so intricately mirrored.

4.5 rounded up. This novel starts out with a bang when two friends who have been growing apart are trying to reconnect via Skype. When Molly goes to check on her daughter, leaving her laptop open and on, Liza sees a masked man enter her friend’s house. Naturally, Liza loses her mind, calling the police and her friend over and over to no avail. Imagining her friend has been kidnapped—because why else wouldn’t she answer her phone or call Liza back?—Liza leaves Chicago, the city she relocated to two years earlier, and hightails it back to Cincinnati to check on Molly.
I can’t tell you what happens next without giving away major plot points, so I’ll simply say that while this is a mystery/suspense novel (who was that masked man?!), it’s also about friendship and marriage and the challenges of nurturing relationships over time, distance, and other obstacles.
Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to review this novel, which RELEASES FEBRUARY 5, 2019.

Try as I might, I just couldn't get into this book, unfortunately. I decided it was in my best interest to DNF this book and move on to others I would enjoy more.
Though this story started off interesting, the rapid-fire changing of perspectives and the vague conversations between characters made me feel as if I was left out of the journey the story was taking. I think it's important for the reader to feel as if they're a player in the story, and I did not get that from this book whatsoever. Instead, I was confused and slightly bored.

Forget You Know Me starts out as a thriller, with two long time girl friends that have grown apart over time on a Skype call when Molly has to step away for a moment to check on an upset child and Liza sees a masked intruder in her friend's home. I expected the rest of the book to be more suspenseful as a result, but the book wasn't about the horror of that event as much as the relationship between these two women and their loved ones.
It took me a little while to get into the book because I was expecting a fast-paced thriller initially, but once I spent some more time with the book I got really invested in the plot and wanted to see how everything would end up. Despite my misunderstanding of what I was getting into, I ended up really enjoying this book. Had I started it expecting a thoughtful take on navigating human relationships and dealing with mistakes, I think I would have enjoyed it right from the start though.

This one was all over the place. And I had a hard time rooting for the characters.
This was twisty and emotional story. A video call unlocks a chain of events that changes both characters forever. Overall fun to read, not the best thing I've read lately but enjoyable.
