DNFed, sort of, as I skimmed through the second half of this. I found the wording of the dialogue really awkward to read and the MC to just be annoyingly stubborn. Saying “no, thanks” to something once or twice and then saying yes is one thing, but saying “no, thanks” like approximately 15 times to every single thing this guy says is just annoying. Everyone else in the reviews has already said this but the “baby” pet name got wayyy out of hand and the smut was just kind of cringey at some points. Very disappointed in the bookseller who gave me Emily Henry’s new novel right before showing me this and saying it was the best thing ever.
3.5 stars. Lina’s inner dialogue was witty but definitely dragged on for way too long in a lot of parts. Also, a lot of the conversations in the first half of the book were very repetitive and that was mostly due to that inner dialogue. Still witty and entertaining enough to make it an easy read.
