It was SO fun to be back with Finlay and Vero!!

It was a long week and I have been in a bit of a reading rut. Nothing was appealing to me, and the last few books I read were good, not great. I had been keeping the advanced copy of Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice for just this moment - and I'm so glad I did! Big thanks to NetGalley and St Martins Press for this gift!

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice picks up right where Book #3 left off. I also read the novella, Veronica Ruiz Breaks the Bank before picking this one up and highly recommend it - provides some good context.

Finlay and Vero are reeling - an international crime lord is hot on their trail, Vero's estranged lover Javier is MIA, Finlay's ex Stephen is poking around more than ever, JUST as things finally seem to be moving forward with Nick. So naturally they must go to Atlantic City and try to fix it all...

I'm going to keep it brief and avoid anything spoilery. But this was just so damn fun. I ADORE these characters and they are back and better than ever. Finlay and Vero take no shit and are on a mission. The cast of characters is always wildly entertaining. We got to spend more time with Fin's mom and Javier this time which was the best. I also will never tire of Finlay writing books that loosely follow her own life.

I remain SO grateful to author Elle Cosimano for building this world and bringing these characters to life. Add Flinay Donovan Rolls the Dice to your preorder and library lists! It is out on March 5 and I can't wait to hear what yall think!

Will post on retail sites, goodreads and my bookstagram @scottonreads

Unfortunately I didn't enjoy this one as much as the previous three, and I'm not even really sure why. Finlay and Vero go to Atlantic City and chaos ensues, Steven tags along because he won't let Finlay leave the state with the kids, and Finlay's mom goes too because she's afraid Finlay's taking a vacation with Steven and they'll end up back together.
