I like to read middle grade fiction every now and then so I know what the quality of usual books in the market are. Anyway, it's been such a long time since I read the early arc of the Ga'hoole book but this one offers the start of a new story. There's a lot of character growth thrown in to the middle of an exciting chase. Definitely a fun and fast read with some depth to it.

It was strange not having Soren and the others of the Great Tree around but I kind of liked the focus being on Nyroc. He's an interesting character and I liked the development of him starting to learn the truth and the Pure Ones and about his Uncle Soren and what really happened to his father, Kludd.

It wasn´t bad but I miss the old group. Nyroc is a nice, interesting owl but this book was so fast, I couldn´t really enjoy his story so far. However, I am curisou to see what happens next. It is promising.
