I am sure I have read this book before. It is all so familiar. It must have been a long time ago though because the rest of the story is not coming back to me.
I found this book very hard to follow. It was discombobulated. I felt no connection to the main character.
I really liked jasper forces nursery crime series. This one just isn’t my cup of tea.

I think I should get a badge: I read a mystery and I liked it! It was a punny mystery about the secret operatives who investigate literary fraud but things get meta pretty quickly. Add in a supercriminal who seems to be undetectable by video surveillance, some interdimensional travel, time-bending and invented historical intrigue and you have a pretty wacky stew, all told with a clipped British accent, if you're listening to the audiobook.
When I picked up this book, I was in a particular mood. I needed a good book. Needed it. Furthermore, I needed a strong female protagonist, someone who would start out strong but would carry on through to the end, and that's exactly what I got in this book.
One of the main things I loved about this book was one Thursday Next. She's not quite so young but also not quite so old, and she rather acts and thinks her age. I love her background in the war. Overall, I just really love her approach to life. She's a very straightforward woman who knows her strengths and limitations. There's a nice pace to this book as Thursday chases after one Acheron Hades, criminal mastermind (though he assures everyone he's not mad) and ruiner of classical texts just for the hell of it. I'm very much looking forward to the next book. Many thanks to Deana and to Claire for the recommendation. I was holding off in case my feelings toward the book turned sour, but it never happened!

This is a fun read - good for an airplane or a Sunday afternoon. The concept of being able to jump in and out of books (and a world where people are well-read!) and a mystery connected to characters from several well-known books is great - particularly if you're familiar with the books in question (hurrah for Jane Eyre!).
This is one of my favorite books. I picked it up on a whim while in London, and devoured it on the plane on the way home. I had a hard time not laughing out loud at the clever literary in-jokes and puns. Thursday Next is one of the coolest literary heroines. The following books in the series are good as well, but can't quite live up to the originality and novelty (ha ha) of this one.

Read on the recommendation of Amanda Bauch and to fulfill the PopSugar prompt a book with a book on the cover. And what a ride. At the end of the book I still had no idea what was going on BUT I'M HERE FOR IT.
Thursday can take me anywhere and I'll just sit back and wait to see what happens. It's like the literary, smart version of Stardust or Jupiter Ascending. No, there is no context or explanation given for the world you are thrust in to. Don't try to make sense of it, just let it happen to you.
I truly have no idea how Jasper's head could have come up with such a bonkers world, but I'm glad he did.
