DNF at about 30 percent. This checks a TON of boxes and should have been my perfect book, but the relationships among the characters felt so manufactured and too trope-y to really enjoy. No issue with any of the topics discussed…in fact, I loved what each of characters represented when it came to grappling with life, trauma, family, etc. It felt like their friendships became way too familiar too fast, which happens with found family novels, but in this case I think it was the clunkiness of the dialogue (didn’t feel natural, trying too hard) that made the connections feel even less genuine.

It's a cozy book for anyone who is looking for short sweet books. The storyline of each character eventually ties up too neatly that it seems surreal and maybe too good to be true. No real huge plot, just peaceful reading without some occasional eyebrow-raising but I guess we all need cocoon moments when we're lost in books.

This book is such an easy and enjoyable read. The writing flows really well, and I found myself wanting to keep reading to see what would happen next.
It's the kind of book that makes you smile and leaves you feeling good. Highly recommend if you're looking for something light and uplifting!

I really liked this one! It was so wholesome and it was just such a comforting read. It follows the story of an unlikely group of people who become friends on their daily commute to work / school etc.
Iona is for sure my favourite character - she reminded me a lot of someone in my life that I know and it almost felt like I was reading about her. The mix of random ages and backgrounds within a little cohort of people was so fun!
Each person had different life experiences to bring to the table and to think all of this stemmed from a freak accident that forced random strangers to work together and in turn created unlikely but lovely friendships
This book even encouraged me to have a conversation with someone on public transport - can’t say I’ve made a bestie but it was nice!
Even the characters that didn’t get their own pov felt fleshed out and added to the dynamic, jack being a personal fave - him backing Martha and giving her a free gym pass so she could beat the bullies up or even acting as bodyguard for emmie so she wouldn’t fear her controlling boyfriend
Speaking of emmie, I was rooting for her and Sanjay the whole book, it was so so cute
And each person had their own life problems that they didn’t want to bother others with, but they all ended up leaning on each other for support and seeking each other out
Overall a great very wholesome read. Would recommend 🙂↕️🙌🙌
