Found Family

This kind of story is very much en vogue these days: a set of random strangers, committed to remaining strangers, are unexpectedly thrown together and become friends while learning that they're not who they thought they were.

There's enough that's unique about this story to make it enjoyable, but it took me a second to get over the increasingly familiar format.

Such a cute and heartwarming book about strangers and friendship. There are five rules when commuting to work and this book explores what happens when those rules are broken and people get to know each other.
1.You must have a job to get to
2. Never talk to strangers on the train
3. Don't consume hot food
4. Never give up a seat once occupied unless (a) it's for a pregnant lady (b) it's for someone old or infirm (c) Iona tells you to
5. Always pack for any eventuality (I love this one, the magic bag lady was so fun. Iona was prepared for everything)

Sometimes I got confused because there quite a few characters and different pov´s to keep track of but overall I really liked this! I looove that the author really showed that people aren’t really what they seem to be. I also really love the representation in here, you know I love representation in books/media and this has a lot of it (lgbt, poc, mental health etc)<3

Iona and friends are going to live rent free in my head for a long time. I love them!
