This book was amazing. I really enjoyed how the storylines came together they worked really well and made a lot of sense. I wasn't so sure how I would like this series because I have struggled with science fiction books before. I can't wait to start the next book in the series.

I read the reviews for this book and lots of people complained, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. I thought it was great action from the first page through the last, suspenseful, compelling, full of twists and turns. For the first time in years, I took lunch every day at work so that I could read it and blasted through the 450 pages in 6 days, pretty quick for me.
We met Scarlet, a new character, and indulged in the retelling of Little Red Riding Hood, while continuing the saga of Cinder and her new discoveries about herself. We got two new male characters which were both wonderful additions to the story. We also spent relatively little time with the really bad guys and their mean actions that were so prevalent in the first book. It was there, but more in the background.
Anyway, I've immediately gotten on the waitlist for the next book in the series, Cress, thankfully available on downloadable audiobook from my local library.

Fun to read, quick paced, and the twist on the fairy tales are delightful!

Truth be told, I liked this second book much better than the first one. First one got me bored at times , but people told me to stick through it and it would get better. I'm glad I listened to them. I really enjoyed Scarlet's story and I'm actually looking forward to see what happens next in Cress.
