Gretel and the Case of the Missing Frog Prints by P.J. Brackston

This was a fun book. Gretel (yes, that Gretel!) is a private detective who is hired to recover some stolen art and find out who committed the crime. She is also a bit of a fashionista. She does get into some sticky situations but also has a pretty good head on her shoulders when it comes to solving a mystery. And how can you go wrong with a story that also includes talking mice, hob goblins and other references to fairy tales!

3 1/2. A bit of a slow start, but ultimately very enjoyable and clever. Really looking forward to the next one.

Even though this is an adult book, the title and synopsis led me to believe that the book would maybe be appropriate to booktalk with middle schoolers...but alas, the brothel/light BDSM component makes it inappropriate. Le sigh. It was a cute, fun read, and would be great for vacation or a long plane ride!

Just what I needed for a read this week! Very amusing. Loved all the characters and look forward to reading more of Gretel's adventures.... yes, that Gretel.

Funny, well done, totally transported me to another world, can’t wait to read the next one.

Took me forever to finish but only due to life, not the book itself. I loved it.

The puns were great, but they got in the way of telling the story.
