spoilers!!:

Let me start by saying, I love Colt Thorne. He is such a great MMC and an overall great boyfriend. He’s not the brooding, arrogant, grump that a lot of books have nowadays (which don’t get me wrong, I love men like that *cough cough Xaden Riorson cough cough*) but he gives off bad boy, almost villain vibe near the beginning of the book, but once you dive deeper into the book, he’s caring, protective, affectionate, and such a loveable character overall. I wish there was a bit more of the hockey portion because it comes off as a hockey romance but only has like three scenes of anything hockey-related. Ashlynn’s not my favorite FMC but I liked her and related to her at some points in the book. It was kind of frustrating because she had no idea that Logan was cheating on her when the signs were quite literally right in her face, but I kind of understood her too because being in a relationship with someone for YEARS and gaining that trust, as well as knowing – or believing – they would never do something like that to you (which mind you it is said that Logan had just started doing it the past few months of their relationship so we can assume he stayed “somewhat” loyal during the rest) is so extremely hard to see or believe when you don’t see it with your own eyes. So while it annoyed me it also made me feel bad because at the end of the day, it was no one’s fault but Logan's even if Ash was oblivious at times it was so noticeable. One thing I love about this book and Kelsie Rae is how she made Colt. It’s been common in some books I have read lately where the MMC gives me the ick at least once or twice throughout the book. Fortunately, I don’t immediately give up on the entire book but it does bring down my level of love or attraction for that character, and it SUCKS. But while reading this book, not once did Colt give me the ick – he felt so real which made it so much better and I loved how great he was. I also love that Kelsie doesn’t do third-act breakups because gosh those get tiring at some point. Also wanted to point out that there is no physical cheating between Ashlynn or Colt, but there are some scenes where it would have been super weird and not right (but we HATE Logan so we don’t care simply because it's him). For example, when Ash could NOT get Colt out of her head – she should have broken up with Logan right then and there too because she felt physically and emotionally attracted to him. Or when she thought of him the entire time she was having sex with Logan in the room beside Colt’s AND caught him getting off on it. Like bro. DA FUQ. Loved it though!!!

I didn’t realize this book was so open-door 😅 personally, I don’t enjoy all that. It really pmo when everyone was walking on eggshells around Logan and being as nice/civil as possible as if he wasn’t lying, cheating scumbag. Other than that, this book was a pretty basic romance with average (kinda meh) writing. Tbh, it was a bit of a struggle to get through.

This book was fine I guess? Just another basic romance revolving around hockey. I was surprised it ended when it did, like I just figured there'd be more to it but I guess it's a short book. But like, Colt has so much unresolved shit around his dad still??? He did so much to help Ash but the boy needs to heal too!

This book did the thing I hate where it's a mediocre book but did a good enough job teasing the next couple in the series that now I want to read the next one.

🎧 I really liked both narrators, and they aren't names I'm familiar with already, so that's nice to have new ones to look for.

🌶️ 3.5/5 Open door, several sexy scenes, nothing groundbreaking.

I finished this book in 1-2 sittings. It was a little cheesy, but well written. The conversations and reflections of the characters felt authentic. I may have felt called out by some of the advice given lol.

Fast pace and fast burning romance, with a dash of unrealistic. Although, college romances can move quickly.

There were around 3 shorter sex scenes. The majority of the spiciness was in the build up and desires expressed through dual pov.

Loved the mmc. Fmc was a little too exaggerated in her naivety, but the trust issues and core belief issues were handled well.

Overall, very cute and definitely recommend for a healing romance read.

I liked this more than I thought it would. Not going to rate it, but do I feel the need to move on to the next couple? Yes. Between 50% and 75% I did start to wonder if I wanted to create my own end because it just moved slow. If you enjoyed the first half, just keep going.
Hockey college romance where hockey jargon isn't really in it until the epilogue.

4.25 Stars. It was really good. I loved their connection from the beginning. I absolutely hate the cheating trope. I hated Logan and was happy towards the end when he got what was coming to him. I was also shocked when he stood up to her parents but I'm happy they stepped up for her too. Should have happened sooner! Can't wait to read Blakely's book :)
