Only two of the Women's Murder Club books haven't been best sellers. The first one to not make the list was the 7th installment, and now I have a pretty good idea why: This book is so bad. It's not just that Boxer's self-sabotage is infuriating and uncharacteristic, but there are also numerous things wrong with the legal and police procedures themselves. That a victim could be missed in the processing of a crime scene, that a cop could notify parents that they'd found their child without confirming it was their child first, that double jeopardy simply doesn't exist in this universe, it's all unbelievable. I'd hoped to read through them all as beach reads, but I think I'm going to have to stop after this one. And THATS why no one bought the 7th...

 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Another masterpiece by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro. Another gripping and twisty story that I couldn't put down.

This story revolved around three cases. A shooting in a ferry, someone going crazy in Cindy's apartment block and the disappearance of Maddison Tyler. Again, although all cases were interesting and had their own little twists, there was too much going on and I felt a little confused sometimes, unsure which clues related to which case. The kidnapping and killing at the ferry were integral to the main story, but the other one felt quite unnecessary.

Furthermore, Lindsays actions regarding her personal life really annoyed me this book! Every decision she made I wanted to throw the book across the room.

Although now that we're getting to the see some of the cases through the courtroom, I do enjoy that side of the story. It gives a little more insight into Yuki and her role as the lawyer of the group. The one thing I ask for is more focus on Cindy, the reporter. We are getting a lot on Yuki and enough on Claire with her being the ME but I sometimes feel like Cindy is left out for not being completely involved with the cases. We need more Cindy!!

Onto the next one!
