Despite the heavy subject this was a somewhat light read with low angst and drama; it’s short but well written. I loved how diverse it is, the FMC is a plus size bisexual black woman and the story is set in Nigeria. The MMC is a demon that turns out to be very sweet, so pick this up if you’re in the mood for that. I will definitely revisit this author in the future.
Steam: 3.6 out of 5.
TW: Sexual assault and rape off page. Definitely check the author’s note on TW’s!

I don’t really write reviews, because my mind is a bit too chaotic to organize my thoughts and then actually put pen to paper. But for this book I had to try.

Definitely look up the trigger warnings for this one.
This was delicious! I loved it. The story was engaging and surprisingly hard-hitting for being less than 200 pages long. It is a bloody revenge story that becomes surprisingly sweet as Joy and Malachi get to know each other. It is fluffy, it is smutty, it is exactly what I wanted when I read it.

Enjoyment 10/10
If you are a paranormal romance girlie that loves spice I cannot recommend this more. That said, I would place a STRONG trigger warning for SA. This book speaks about it consistently.
Sweet Vengeance follows Joy, after she summons a demon named Malachi, to assist in her plot to murder her r@pist and make it look like an accident. With Malachi's help, she tortures her r@pist and murders him. Along the way, Malachi becomes her home, making her comfortable enough to be touched and loved again.
This story is was extremely real and spoke to the rightful rage of many survivors and the way we struggle with support afterward. I loved the way Malachi became her safe space. This is the first in a series and I cannot wait to read the next.
Includes: queer reps, black FMC, SA-Survivor reps, violence

DNF @ 20%. FMC summons a demon (the MMC) to help her seek revenge on her rapist. I was interested in the concept, but couldn’t get into the writing style.
