After sloughing through her grief, Joy summons the demon Malachi to aid het in terrorizing and ending the life of the man who took everything from her. Along the way these two lonely souls find companionship and love underneath all the bloodlust. This is an insanely spicy monster erotica that is as dark as it is heartwarming. This was my first read from Viano Oniomoh and I can’t wait to dive into her other works!

I thoroughly enjoyed this. I wasn't sure what to expect going into it, but it's a cacophony of vengeance mixed with unabashed pleasure.

Joy is out to break someone's psyche and enlists a demon, Malachi, to help her do so. The immediate attraction between the two of them is steamy, and while they don't act on it at first with them trying to convince themselves that they shouldn't be attracted to one another, those urges and wants can't be kept at bay for long. Malachi feeds off of the hate Joy has and it only serves to endure him to her more.

I breezed through this read, and I'm curious to see what book two will hold.

It was an interesting read and I liked the relationship dynamic.

The writing felt very amateur though as if there was no editor or beta readers. For example, the author uses “literally” way too many times and some of the dialogue felt forced.

After the main conflict was resolved not even halfway into the book, I felt like the plot kind of dragged so I skimmed my way through the ending.

The book did what it was supposed to do I guess but overall very meh.
